African wild dogs can run at 60km/h for 5 km or more, tiring their prey until they overpower it.

They may travel 50km a day while hunting, and patrol a ranges of up to 2000 sq km. African wild dogs approach a herd openly, selecting a single target to chase.

No two wild dogs have the same markings.

African wild dogs live in packs. Cubs well protected and are left in the den while the pack hunts, and are fed with disgorged meat when they return.
